Busuanga, officially the Municipality of Busuanga, is a 3rd class municipality in the northernmost part of Palawan province, Philippines.

The municipality’s history dates back to around 3,000 BC with nomadic groups immigrating to the Philippines. The area was later influenced by Malayans and Indonesians. The Municipality of Busuanga itself was created in 1950 from several barrios belonging to the town of Coron.

Busuanga Municipality Location

The municipality of Busuanga is located on the western third of Busuanga Island, the largest island in the Calamian Group of Islands, in the northernmost part of Palawan province, Philippines.

The fastest way to get there from Manila is by plane. The Francisco B. Reyes Airport (USU), also known as Busuanga Airport, is located in Coron town, which neighbors Busuanga municipality. Several airlines offer daily flights from Manila to Busuanga Airport, with a travel time of around 1 hour and 15 minutes.

Another option is to take a ferry from Manila to Coron. Travel time by ferry is significantly longer, ranging from 12 to 18 hours. However, this can be a more economical option.
