First, it boasts pristine waters, having twice received the Gawad Pangulo sa Kapaligiran Award for being the cleanest inland body of water in the Ilocos Region. The river’s healthy ecosystem is further enhanced by its 15 hectares of mangroves, providing a habitat for a diverse array of wildlife like fish, crabs, shrimps, oysters, and even migratory birds. Finally, the Balingasay River’s natural beauty shines through as it winds its way through lush greenery, creating a captivating scenery.

The Balingasay River offers a variety of activities for visitors to enjoy. Take a leisurely river cruise and soak in the scenery, keeping an eye out for wildlife. If you prefer a refreshing dip, go for a swim in the designated areas. For the more adventurous, rent a kayak and explore the river at your own pace. Birdwatchers will delight in the diverse species inhabiting the lush mangroves. And to cap it all off, enjoy a relaxing picnic lunch by the riverbanks, taking in the fresh air and the captivating scenery.
